New energy positive apartment building in Helsinki, Finland

The planned new construction of a residential positive energy building in the city's Kalasatama district is introduced by Jukka Lehtonen, CEO of the company Basso Building Systems. Senior scientist Ismo Heimonen at the Finnish technical research centre VTT provides an overview of the technologies to be implemented in the context of the demonstration case to realise a positive energy building in a nordic climate. Chief Technology Officer at Tom Allen Senera, Mika Manner, highlights the role of PVT panels, ground source deep boreholes, smart control systems / wider energy systems integration as well as energy efficiency measures and sustainable transport considerations.
